What's in My Travel Makeup Bag 2020
If you have ever been to Maine in the winter, you’ll understand why I spend the first half of my year traveling as much as possible. If you have ever been to Maine in the summer or fall, you’ll understand why I stay put after June.
Winter is in full swing here with lots of snow and temperatures dropping below zero after sunset. So, I am packing my bag and heading off to warmer places.
I think what makeup a women travels with says a lot about what makeup she really loves. What can’t you go without for a weekend getaway or a trip to visit the sun and sand?
I am getting ready to head off but before I do I want to revisit my travel makeup bag. I shared what I was traveling with last year in this post but I think there’s been some changes. And some familiar faces, too!
Base
I don’t think I’ve told you about this First Aid Beauty Coconut Skin Smoothie Priming Moisturizer ($29*)…oh, wait. I’ve talked about it here, here, and here. And probably in a few other posts, too. The name is too long but the product is perfection. I wouldn’t leave home with out it.
This Bite Changemaker foundation is new to me ($39.50). I’m still testing it out but I like it enough to risk taking it on vacation with me. I’ll let you know my full thoughts on it soon!
And my Tarte Shape Tape concealer ($27). It’s just trustworthy. And when I’m traveling, I love trustworthy.
Cheeks
For blushes, I picked out this discontinued Nars Sex Appeal blushand this discontinued Becca Light Chasers in Amethyst Flashes Geode. Something warm toned, something cool toned.
For my highligher, I grabbed this Colourpop Super Shock Cheek in Flexitarian ($8). This is one of my favorites. It’s so beautiful and glowy. It can be sheered out or applied a little heavier for a glass skin look.
Finally, I added this BareMinerals Endless Summer bronzer (full sized, $29). I love a good mini - especially for traveling.
Eyes
This Colourpop x Kathleen Lights Dream St palette ($20) has seen better days but I just love it. It’s neutral enough to work with most anything I’m wearing but the blue and red pops add some interest.
I threw in my Hourglass Scattered Light shadow in Smoke ($29*) for a little interest. Although it doesn’t look like anything special in a still photo, this baby is absolutely gorgeous. The shift and dimension adds something extra to any look. Plus it compliments the neutrals in the Dream Street palette.
Would I go anywhere without my Urban Decay 27/7 Glided on Eye Pencil in Bourbon ($22)? It’s my favorite. I also threw in this Lancome Drama-Liqui pencil in black ($23).
Not pictured is my favorite mascara, the CoverGirl Lash Blast in Very Black ($7*). It’s just too perfect.
Lips
When it comes to lips, I kept it simple.
My trusty Nars Velvet Matte Pencil in Dragon Girl ($25*) was a must bring, of course. This is my favorite red of all time. The pencil format means you don’t need to bring a red lip liner. And it lasts forever - even through food!
I grabbed this BareMinerals Gen Nude lipstick mini in Petal (full-sized, $20). It’s so pretty and pairs so nicely with my Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in $weet Mouth (full-sized, $18).
I packed my Colourpop Lippie Liner in Dopey (discontinued) and the Thrive Causmetics lip liner in Kackie ($20) to pair with the bareMinerals lipstick or the Fenty gloss.
Extras
To round it all out, I added my trusty Urban Decay Primer Potion ($24*). I also have my Anastasia Beverly Hills Dip Brow pomade in Soft Brown ($21). And finally, this bareMinerals Mineral veil powder mini (full size, $25*).
