November Shop My Stash
How is it November? I just can’t, friends. I was not ready for it. My New Orleans trip definitely confused my internal clock and I’m still over here thinking it’s going to be 75 and sunny tomorrow. Sadly, we have snow in the forecast for this weekend!
With the new month it’s time to refresh my everyday makeup stash to shake things up. So, let’s take a peek at what I pulled out for November!
Base
Listen, I have something important to say here. I love Dr. Jart Premium BB Cream. I have sung its praises since day one here on Laurel and Iron. BUT…I’m on the hunt for a replacement. More on that in another post but for now, just know, I still love it, but I’m trying the Thrive Causemetics Buildable Blur CC cream ($38) in the shade Fair right now. And it’s hard for me. Okay? I’m struggling with the transition but I’m going to give the Thrive product a fair chance.
Now that we have my drama queen moment out of the way, let’s talk about the other stuff I’ll be dipping into this month.
For primers, I would LOVE to finish Makeup Forever Hydrating Primer* ($37). It’s good stuff but my primer collection is insane. No one on God’s green Earth needs the number of primers I currently have. Along the same vein, this mini Too Faced Primed and Peachy Cooling Matte Skin Perfecting Primer* ($34, full sized) is almost gone. So, hopefully I can finish this up, too. Then I’d be 10 primers away from a reasonable primer collection.
Finally, we have this concealer. Kat Von D and I have a difference of opinion of a few issues and I have decided to stop supporting her brand for the time being. So, this Lock-It Concealer * in L5 Neutral ($27) is another thing I’m hoping to part ways with this month.
Cheek
I kind of sort of noticed that any hint of color I got this summer is completely gone and I’m back to being basically translucent. Lucky for me, I have some products in my stash that compliment my Snow White-ness.
For blushes, I pulled out my Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Mood Exposure *($40). My goodness, I love this blush. I love it so much that I bought it for both my mom and my sister. Because I couldn’t keep it a secret. I needed them to know how good it is. Hourglass is one of my favorite brands for good reason. They make fantastic powders. Just unreal quality and texture.
I also pulled out this CoverFx Monochromatic Blush Duo in Warm Honey ($38). Proceed with caution friends. If you’re a pale princess, tap your brush in the matte side every so lightly then tap almost all of the powder off before applying. This stuff packs a punch but the warm rose color screams Thanksgiving to me.
Next up is my bareMinerals Invisible Bronze in Fair to Light (discontinued) . Apparently, you all have been sleeping on this one because it’s discontinued. I am devastated. This is Hourglass quality at a more reasonable price. Please email bareMinerals and tell them to bring it back. They’ve stop replying to my emotional tomes.
For highlighters, I grabbed my Wet’n’Wild Megaglo Highlighting Powder in Blossom Glow * ($3) and this adorable little mini of the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Opal * (full-sized, $38). I love a good mini!
Eyes
I just received the Tati Beauty Volume 1 Textured Neutrals palette ($48). It is a true beauty. So, I will absolutely be spending some time this month getting to know her. But I still wanted to pull a couple of old favorites that would compliment that palette nicely and be there for me when I need something tried and true.
Not enough people are talking about this Aether Beauty Solstice palette ($58). First of all, it’s made with clean ingredients. The packaging is 100% recyclable. And hi, it’s gorgeous! I also pulled out the Natasha Denona Cranberry Palette * ($48). Does this not scream holiday party?
Speaking of holiday parties, I also picked out this Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter and Glow shadow in Diamond Dust * ($24). And the Stila eyeshadow in Kitten *($18). Apparently, I’m going all out glam this year for even the humblest of gatherings.
Finally, my Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil in Mildew (olive), Bourbon (brown), and Perverson (black) ($22, each). What can I say? It’s my favorite eyeliner formula.
Lips
I was turned on to Thrive Causemetics by Kackie Reviews Beauty on YouTube and while I was ordering the CC cream I wanted to try one of her favorite lip combos: the Lip Fuller lipliner in Kackie ($20) and Headliner lipstick in Ilene ($26). I’m excited to play with these in month.
What is a Laurel and Iron beauty post without mentioning Bite Beauty? It basically doesn’t exist. So, here we go…Amuse Bouche lipstick in Beetroot * ($26) and Liquified lipstick in Braised * ($26).
To top it all off, I’ve got the Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb in $weet Mouth ($18). So pretty!
Fragrances
This month I picked Nest Midnight Fleur and Coco Woods. From Skyler, a clean beauty brand, I picked Meadow. I have 8 gazillion perfume samples because they seem to appear in the box of every online beauty purchase I make. I seriously need to start working through these!
