squat proof leggings part 3: zella live in legging review
I’m back at it again talking about squat proof leggings! If you haven’t already, you should catch up on the series here!
Today, I want to share with you my experience with the Zella Live In High Waisted Leggings ($54). Spoiler alert. Ding, ding, ding! WE HAVE A WINNER but before we get too excited they aren’t quite perfect. Life is cruel like that, no?
Let’s talk about the pros first.
These babies are opaque! Super soft with a decent amount of stretch, the Zella will really suck you in and hold you there. They stay in place on me. They are super long, which is not a pro for me, but if you’re a tall girl who struggles to find full-length leggings these are worth a try. And there is no dreaded panty peek-a-boo!
The name “Live In” is so accurate. Because they’re opaque I can wear them to spin then head straight to the grocery store without worrying about putting on a show. I’ve worn them while traveling. I’ve worn them to bed. They work for every legging appropriate occasion. The line goes up to an XXL and they offer crops, 7/8 length, and come out with new colors each season.
There are a few draw backs. These leggings are exclusive to Nordstrom. I don’t live anywhere near a Nodstrom store so I have to order online. Thankfully, Nordstrom has free shipping and free returns for a year!
While their opacity lend themselves to their squat proof-ness, they are Thick, with a capital T. This makes these leggings perfect for outdoor activities in early spring and fall but I find myself getting a little over heated in the studio on warmer days. So, they won’t be a year round legging for me. Which is a bit of a bummer.
I will absolutely purchase more of these Zella Live In Leggings this year during the Nordstrom’s Annual Sale in the fall. I will probably go for 7/8 length next time because I have short legs and I’d love try another color to see if the opacity is the same throughout the line.
Have you ever tried the Zella legging? What are your favorite squat proof leggings?
