beauty: 5 bright lipsticks for spring
I have really enjoyed creating this series. Not only because I enjoy curating capsule collections around a single theme but because it has help me learn a lot about the formulas and brands I really love.
In my blushes series, I learned that I truly and deeply love the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blushes above all others. They are pricey but I adore them with my whole heart. In my lip series, I realized that Bite Beauty is the best. They focus on lip products and do them so incredibly well.
Today, I’m going to talk about 5 bright lipsticks for spring. A lot of these formulas are repeats but they’ve earned their way into my favorites because they are consistent, they are great quality, and they make me feel good when I wear them. And I think that says a lot about a brand or particular formula.
So, without further ado, here are my top 5 picks for bright lipsticks for spring!
Nars Velvet Matt Lip Pencil in Dragon Girl ($24*): I’m not going to lie to you. I got this lip color because, for many years, it was Taylor Swift’s favorite red lip color. And if Taylor Swift is wearing a red lip, I want to own it. She rocks the most incredible red lips. I absolutely love the Nars Lip Pencils. They are pigmented, they are comfortable to wear, and they last beautifully on lips. This bright, blue toned red is perfect for the warmer weather. I love to pair it with blue tops.
Nars Satin Lip Pencil in Luxembourg ($24*) : The Satin Lip Pencils bring a touch of shine to your look. Luxembourg is a bright, blue pink. It looks great with subtle, champagne hued eye makeup. This is a great option to complete your wedding guest outfit.
Bite Beauty Liqiuified Lipstick in Candied ($24*): I’ve talked about my love for this formula before. It’s soft, smooth, and non-drying. All the things I need in a lipstick. This warm, bright pink is great for a spring date-night!
Too Faced Liquified Long Wear Lipstick in Melted Melon ($14*, on sale!): This formula is a little less opaque than the Bite Beauty liquid. The thinner formula lends itself to achieving a softer look, which I love! Especially for colors I might not normally feel confident enough wear. You can build them to a rich color or wear sheer for a more subtle look.
Too Faced Liqiuified Long Wear Lipsitick in Melted Candy ($17*): This neon pink is a must for me. I love to wear it with an all black outfit for a pop of color. It is the brightest of my five picks. It makes me feel like a million bucks. Wear when you need a boost.
