Squat Proof Leggings Part 7: Constantly Varied Gear Sangria Capri Leggings

Disclaimer: Constantly Varied Gear (CVG) kindly sent these leggings for review. As always, all thoughts and opinions are my own. Thank you to CVG and to you, my readers, for continuing to support Laurel and Iron!

Am I dreaming? When CVG’s Chief Brand Officer, Ben, reached out to me and asked if I’d like to try the CVG Sangria Leggings ($49), I thought I might be. The search for the perfect Squat Proof legging has been a part of Laurel and Iron since day one.

I strongly believe that we cannot assess someone’s health based on the shape of their body and I’ve been searching for brands that align with my values. CVG is one of those brands. Needless to say, I’m excited to get into the nitty gritty of it all with you!

  1. Easy to find and order? Yes. Although they’re only available online, CVG has made shopping easy by sharing photos of women of different sizes wearing the leggings along side their measurements. This made it easy to get a good fit. Shipping was easy and fast.

  2. Cute and Stylish? Yes, again! I absolutely adore the color of these leggings. I love that they have a phone pocket and that they’re not too long on me. At 5’4, these fit me like a 7/8th legging.

  3. Are they comfy? Yes, absolutely. These leggings lack the severe compression of the Fabletics Powerhold fabric. While this can either be a pro or a con depending on your preference, for most of my workouts, I favor comfort over extreme hold. I do think I could have gone down a size for a more supportive fit.

  4. Are the size inclusive? So-so. Per their size chart, the leggings would fit a size 0-20. Which is certainly not a small range but there are definitely more extensive size ranges out there.

  5. Are the squat proof? CVG is a small company based out of my home state of Massachusetts. It is run by the team behind the Thick Thighs Save Lives podcast and Death by Squats blog. Needless to say, they know squat proof. But, the proof is always in the pudding.

All in all, friends, these leggings are a pair that I keep reaching for. They’re soft and comfortable and they work. I’m always excited when they come out of the laundry and are ready to wear again.

If you’d like to check out the CVG offerings, head over to their website. And stay tuned for more legging reviews soon!
